The Statue of Liberty – a symbol of the United States, and of New York City in particular – was in fact created by the French sculptorAuguste Bartholdi, and given to the United States by France to commemorate the friendship between the two countries. The statue on Liberty Island is the biggest one, standing 97 metres high (pedestal included), but there are 5 replicas in various parts of Paris, including the one inside the breastplate of the French sculptor César Baldaccini’s’ centaur statue. See if you can track down all five, and also the Flame of Liberty on Pont de l’Alma: it’s an exact replica of the Statue of Liberty’s flame.

The Eiffel Tower was built for 1899 World's Fair, was initially temporary but became permanent. It stands over 1000 feet tall. It stands as a "silent witness" to the history of one of the world's great citiy's. When asked to name the most iconic of Paris' sites, The Eiffel Tower would be named almost every time.

The Arc de Triomphe Paris, the most monumental of all triumphal arches, was built between 1806 and 1836. Even though there were many modifications from the original plans (reflecting political changes and power struggles), the Arch still retains the essence of the original concept which was a powerful, unified symbol for France.
The Arc de Triomphe stands at the center of the Place Charles de Gaulle, also known as the “Place de l’Étoile”. It’s located at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. The arches whole decorative style is entirely of the tradition of sculpture from the first half of the nineteenth century.
